The Precious Gift Called Photographs

The Precious Gift Called Photographs

For the last few days, I have been missing my mother more than usual. As memories flooded my mind, I found myself going through the photographs I had taken with her over the years.

And then, there it was.

A gem.

The last photograph I ever took with my mother.

In that photograph, I am leaning on her shoulder, while she gently rests her head against mine and holds my hand. Looking at it brought tears to my eyes. It was not just a photograph anymore. It was a conversation. A silent reminder of her love, her warmth, and the countless sacrifices she made for me.

Photographs have a language of their own

They speak when words fail. They capture emotions that we often overlook in the moment. Years later, they return to tell us stories. A photograph can take us back to a childhood birthday, a family gathering, a vacation, or a simple afternoon spent with someone we love. It allows us to revisit moments that time has taken away but memory refuses to let go of.

As I looked at that photograph, I realized that pictures are much more than images. They are little pieces of our lives preserved forever. They hold smiles, hugs, laughter, tears, and sometimes even the last moments we share with someone dear.

We often click photographs casually, without realizing their future value. But one day, they become treasures. They become bridges between the present and the past.

That photograph is perhaps the greatest gift I have ever given myself

No amount of money can replace it. It allows me to see my mother again, to feel her presence, and to remember a love that continues to live in my heart.

So take photographs. Capture ordinary moments. Take pictures with your parents, your children, your friends, and the people you love. One day, those photographs may become your most precious possessions.

Because while people may leave, photographs help their memories stay.

You will yearn for it later

Today, I feel like I could have taken a few more. You can’t get enough of it. Take as many as you want. I was always teased for taking many photographs. But today, when I go through these pictures, I find myself vindicated.

No matter what people might say, just listen to your heart.

When your heart says, “Click,” go for it. I once heard what my said. God said, ” Keep taking pics; she may not be with you for a long time. I listened to what God said, and today I have so many pictures with my beautiful, photogenic mom.

The truth is that “enough is never enough”….hahaha….

Happy photographing!
